Melora Hardin is known as one of the stars on The Office, NBC's hit TV show, as Steve Carrell's hard-nosed boss/on again, off again love interest. On the big screen Melora can be seen in Thank You for Smoking, The Hot Chick, Absolute Power and Soul Man to name a few.
Acting professionally since the age of six, Melora has done some 14 pilots and guest starred on many TV favorites such as Friends, Gilmore Girls, CSI, Monk, Cover Me, Little House on the Prairie, Quincy, Love Boat and many more.
The Rocketeer featured her melodious singing voice, including a beautiful cameo and her soundtrack versions of "Begin the Beguine" and "When Your Lover Has Gone."
Melora has also recorded two CDs of original songs, The Melodrama and Purr. Both albums are available at her official website.
Recently, Melora added directing to her resume with the one-woman show, Strip Search, which had a critically acclaimed run at the ACME Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles. Hardin followed that up by directing and starring in the independent feature, You, written by and starring her husband, actor/writer, Gildart Jackson. They plan to submit You to film festivals in 2007. Melora lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband and their two daughters, Rory and Piper.
According to DVD commentary on Back to the Future, producer Bob Gale stated that Hardin was cast at one point to play the character of Jennifer Parker. When Michael J. Fox was cast as Eric Stoltz's replacement, Hardin was fired because producers felt she was too tall while on screen with Fox.
