- I have never even watched this show, how ever, I'm a car finatic, and I love Ferraris, So I want to put this to a vote. Of the two cool Miami Vice cars, which would you like to drive the most. For me it would have to be the Testarossa only because Spiders are practically untouchable now, and Testarossas are still in range for some. The Spider will get more people breaking their necks to look at you, but the testarossa would be better to drive. Also, I think that the two main characters had more presence in the Big Intimidating Testarossa. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
if you haven't seen this show you definetly gotta buy the dvd's or try to catch it on tv.i'm not hip to all of the specs. of both cars but i'm kinda twisted b'tween the 2, i like the daytona because of the different angles it was shot from mainly in season 1 and i like the scenes where crockett and tubbs were riding together with no dialogue, just silence and they still had chemistry during those moments and on top of that it was a drop top. but i like the testarossa because it seemed sleek and clean so to speak, plus i saw someone driving an all black one same model last summer and that engine sounds like a monster, i heard it even after it turned the corner. to sum it up i gotta go with the daytona, not that i dislike the test.because they shot it from different angles also but its just something about the daytona that i like it slightly more.

I guess, the spider would be a better car to look at from different angles, I have seen a few Testarossas in real life, and it doesn't really matter the angle that you view it from, it is pretty square from all angles. I guess I see your point, and after having thought it over, they did actually built Daytona Spiders, where they never built a Testarossa convertible. Convertibles I think always have the edge in tv and movie production, because you can see the characters. Thanks for the thoughts.

Also, it appears that the Daytona Spider was blown up by a military weapon in epsiode 45, which is the 1st episode in season 3 and is titled "When Irish Eyes are Crying", after that the next 5 episodes featured the Testarossa. Then in episode 51 titled "El Viejo", the Daytone Spider reappeared. Has anyone noticed this, looks like a blooper. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
- The T-rossa is one fine machine, but you have to love the Spider from season 1 with Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" playing in the background! You must be registered and logged in to post a message.

They had a sequence with the white Testarossa and "In The Air Tonight" during Season 4's "A Bullet For Crockett".
Just a way to get a feel for the same song & mood, but with both cars. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.- It is not a rumor, its true. Ferrari gave Miami Vice the two new Testarrosas because they didn't like that Corvette getting attention. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
- Yep. Ferrari realized "Vice" could be used as a marketing tool, and wanted one of their real products on there, and not a conversation.
So they gave them the Testarossa's. Sales skyrockted, and even Enzo Ferrari gave Don Johnson a free Testarossa as a gift for the good sales. Johnson has since sold it though...You must be registered and logged in to post a message. The Testarossa gets my blood rushing -- even better if DJ's at the wheel, in his Raybans.
But my favorite car is the Lamborgini -- white, not yellow.
The ONLY car that can get away with that shade of yellow is theBarracuda DJ drove in "Nash Bridges".You must be registered and logged in to post a message.- Testarossa, oh yeah! The Daytona is a great car with the wind in your hair. But it is the Testarossa for me.You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
- The testarorsia was my favorite car.You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
- The Daytona, no doubt. Its a classic and has an enduring appeal. However one of my favourite moments in the series is when they introduced the Testarossa with Crockett's theme playing in the background. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
