Michael R. Perry is the fifth of six children of Roger and Janet Perry. He was born in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, after which he lived in Wellesley Massachusetts (1965 - 72) before returning to central Ohio (Worthington) in 1972.
He graduated from Worthington High School in 1980. He started at USC Film School in 1980. He spent 1981-82 at the University of Kent at Canterbury in the UK, before returning to the USC film school and graduating in 1984.
Perry married Cynthia Woodard in 1989. They currently reside in Los Feliz, California. He has had four books published: SKELTER, THE STRANGER RETURNS, THE GROOM'S SURVIVAL MANUAL, and THE COUPLE'S SURVIVAL MANUAL.
