He was the executive producer of the 1998 movie Velvet Goldmine. Michael: In my spare time I like to faint. I do it a real lot and I just think it's very funny when it happens. (edit) Michael: I feel that our powers as songwriters and co-partners in this venture that we call R.E.M. are as strong as they ever have been. (edit) Michael: The whole punk ethic was do-it-yourself, and I've always been very literal, especially as a kid. Whem they said that anybody can do this, I was like, 'OK, that's me. (edit) Michael: If you disagree with me, fine! Because that's the great thing about America, we can disagree! (edit) Michael: I've always felt that sexuality is a really slippery thing. In this day and age, it tends to get categorized and labeled, and I think labels are for food. Canned food. (edit)
