When Summerton High School's little genius Charlie invents a time machine, Virgil sees it as a good chance for a do over. Charlie and Virgil decide it would be good for Virgil to save his crush and long time friend, Stephanie from falling from the cheerleader's pyramid and win her over from her boyfriend, Derek. Who is the popular football player who Virgil use to be friends with before he chose popularity over him. Now the minutemen Zeke, Charlie and Virgil have to save the world from the black holes the time machine creates and at the same time run from the Feds who are now after them because of the machine they invented. The vice principal in the movie, Mr. Tolkan could be named named for actor James Tolkan who played the similarly tied principal in Back to the Future. Mr. Tolkan could also be an allusion to Vice Principal Hacket from Phil of the Future, a Disney Channel show.
