Tim: (holding up a copy of Don Quixote) Did you know that it's not pronounced Don Quicks Oat?
Becky: (acting surprised) Really? You learn something new every day. (edit) Becky: Great... it'll be just like Sex and the City. I'll be Dianne and you can be Veronica.
Lisa: You've never seen Sex and the City, have you?
Becky: I only get basic cable. (edit) Lisa: I thought I was OK. But when I signed those (divorce) papers, I suddenly felt alone... Like, all of a sudden being incredibly attractive and universally well-liked wasn't enough? I mean that's pathetic, right?
Becky: Nooo.. It's perfectly natural. Lucky for you, you came to the right person.
Lisa: You came to me.
Becky: Either way. (edit) Bruce: I need you to cover Germain's classes this morning. She's running late.
Becky: I have sessions with students.
Bruce: You can hand out condoms tomorrow. News flash... It's not like they're gonna use them. I estimate that 9 out of 10 high school students have herpes or a baby. (edit) Becky: Isn't that the same friend that told you that video game scores counted when you applied to college?
Shawna: Yah.
Becky: And isn't that the same friend who told you that you wouldn't get pregnant if you showered afterward?
Shawna: Yah.
Becky: Do you see what I'm getting at here?
Shawna: No. (edit)

During the first fire alarm scene, Becky is standing in the hallway directing the students toward the exits. In the first shot, there is a tall dark haired boy wearing a white t-shirt with red sleeves walking toward and then past her. As she looks behind her to see Principal Terry running by with his Dick Cheney picture, you see the same boy about half way down the hall coming towards her. Then, as she looks back in her original direction, the same boy is once again walking towards her, but further down the hall than in the first shot.

Backdraft
Tim: I was a volunteer firefighter.
Becky: Really? I love Backdraft.
This is a reference to the movie Backdraft which was released in 1991. Kurt Russell and William Baldwin star as brothers, who are both firefighters for the same fire company in Chicago, Illinois. They must put out fires started by a serial arsonist, while coming to terms with their strained relationship. (edit) Sex and the City
Lisa: You've never seen Sex and the City, have you?
Becky: I only get basic cable.
Sex and the City was a popular, unedited series on HBO before it was edited and syndicated to TBS, among others. (edit)
