Kate Fox, a divorce attorney working at her father's law firm, discovers her talent in matchmaking. At work, she takes on the cases of a divorcing couple fighting over their dog, and a naive bride-to-be whose boyfriend has odd demands for their pre-nupt. While attempting to keep her father from knowing about her new-found calling in matchmaking, Kate also tries to set up a date for a talented cancer researcher who has already given up on the hope of ever finding a mate.

Kate takes a pro bono case to help a struggling musician to determine if he is the father of his ex-girlfriend's child. On the matching making side, Kate has issues with Laurel dating two guys. Meanwhile, some of her old friends come to the office wanting a divorce.

Kate is persuaded to be a matchmaker for a former high school classmate with whom she didn't get on very well. At the office, she handles a divorce case involving a cheating husband and a "hot nanny".

Kate tries couples therapy with her ex-boyfriend, helps an engaged couple who have cold feet in setting their wedding date, and helps a lawsuit-happy man communicate with his ex-wife again.

Kate is supposed to be a bridesmaid in her friend Gabrielle's wedding, but when the wedding is suddenly called off, she has to become her lawyer instead.

Kate attends a support group for love addicts, where she runs into one of her clients. In the office, she works on a particularly difficult settlement case which is further complicated by Jerry's ex-girlfriend being the opposing counselor.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Kate faces family issues with both her client, a divorced rap star and his ex-wife, and with her own parents. To top it off, the relationship between Amy and Michael begins to fall apart, and a former matchmaking client is suddenly single again.

Kate sets up her gynecologist with a recently widowed man who turns out to be a 'love bandit'. She also has her first lesbian matchmaking client, and goes on a first date with Michael.

A trial against a reality TV show producer gets complicated when the judge, a very picky and demanding woman, asks Kate to find her a date.

Serena Lockner (guest star Charisma Carpenter) is back and this time she wants Kate's help in adopting a baby.

Kate Fox is hired by Rashmi, a young Indian woman, who is forced to agree to a marriage arranged by her parent unless Kate finds her an astrologically suitable match. The law firm also begin the proceedings for Lauren's case against her ex-husband Adam (guest star Nathan Fillion).

Jerry, Kate and Nick go to a party thrown by Caroline Winters, a wealthy woman who is going through a divorce and whom Jerry wants as a client. Kate meets her son and ends up representing him on another matter but he is also interested in her more than just professionally. Victoria drags Kate to a pole-dancing class apparently as a payback for Kate setting her up on a bad date. While there, Kate runs into Kevin and sets him up with Victoria. Victoria stands up her date because her ex is back in town.

Nick's old friend Colin seeks divorce after being married for less than an hour on account of his cheating wife. While Nick and Victoria seem to be getting closer, Kate and Michael's relationship twists and turns when his best friend -- and Lauren's ex-husband -- Adam steps into the picture.

Kate's latest matchmaking client is a former call-girl who wants to leave that life behind, find real love, and start a real relationship. Meanwhile at the office, her next client is a wife who is suing her husband for being too stingy.

Kate's next client is TV's 'Dr. Love' who's been sleeping around, and his wife wants a divorce. Adam continues to mess with Kate's head -- and her relationship with Michael. Lauren files a ten million dollar malpratice suit against the company, and Jerry hooks up with one of Kate's friends.

Kate represents a woman whose husband claims he suffers from amnesia, which is why he disappeared years ago and has never paid her alimony. Lauren's malpractice suit takes a turn for the better, and the question of her child's father is resolved.

Kate attends her high school reunion, meets an ex-boyfriend, and messes up the love life of her old classmate by proposing a pre-nup to her French fiancé. Kate's mom Lianne also visits.
