Spy Anton Malek has been planted in the Federated People's Republic's atomic research program 12 years ago. Now, suffering from an incurable disease, he goes rogue and plans to transform the reactor into a nuclear bomb and wipe out the FPR's capital. The IMF must stop him without exposing him and forcing him to set off the bomb prematurely.

Special effects man Jonnie Burke received an Emmy nomination for his work in this episode - specifically, the elaborate nuclear bomb/reactor device.

After Phelps anounces it, we hear the airplane that will produce the sonic boom that breaks the glass. Since supersonic aircraft fly faster than sound, it is impossible to hear one before it passes.
