  • What has happened to monster garage?

As the title says. What is happening? Is it over? On hold? Some news would be great!

I loved watching this show. I always wanted to do what they do, change a vehicle into something else. Maybe one day someone will bring it back with new people but it wont be the same without Jesse James. hide « show »

I loved watching this show. I always wanted to do what they do, change a vehicle into something else. Every episode was different and kept me hooked till the end. You never knew whether or not they would get it done. The team usually finished the challenge and were awarded with the prize at the end. I loved the concept and the show. I was sad to see it go and, like other good shows, wish they would bring it back. Maybe one day someone will bring it back with new people but it wont be the same without Jesse James. He made the show.

Great show, hate to see it go. hide « show »

This really was a great show. The cars that they made on the show were awesome. Every idea for a car was new and original. Once, they even turned a cop car into a mobile doughnut maker! I wish they would make at least one more season. This show was too good to last only a few seasons. If you have a chance to catch a re-run of this show, you really should watch it. Every show was great, except for a very few in which the builders just didn't come through and what would have been a cool car was just not as good as it could have been, or it wasn't finished at all.

Making something into something else hide « show »

“Monster Garage” is a fun show that features the skills of people who might not have gotten on TV in the past. Each episode features a vehicle turned into something else. Some of the conversions are really cool, others leave you wondering. What is always interesting is the interaction between the various craftsmen. Many are skilled at their own trade, and often they run their own shop, and don’t work so well on team projects.

Keeping them in line is Jesse James who is not one to respect other people’s egos. Jesse doesn’t hesitate to throw people out of the garage if they aren’t pulling their weight or if they cause trouble.

Even if the project isn’t completed, the show still ends on a fun note, as the vehicle is destroyed in a most enjoyable fashion.

Has a bit of everything. hide « show »

Much like the series American Chopper, this series has a bit of everything; engaging personalities, art and ingenuity, crazy moments and plenty of drama.

There may have been a couple of Motorcycle Mania specials before it, but this is the show that really made West Coast Choppers fabricator Jesse James a star, albeit a bit of a reluctant one.

The purpose of the show is to take an ordinary means of transport (just about everything has been used) and make it function as another machine, all while keeping it as stock looking as possible. Jesse serves as a sort of supervisor for the builds and he often joins in at some point (he really enjoys making custom exhaust pipes for the vehicles).

Teams are made up of both hand-picked fabricators from different fields and some who send in audition tapes. There are 7 days alloted for a build, with the first day being used to plan and design and the remaining 6 to get it done. If they succeed, they win a professional tool set worth several thousand dollars. If they lose, they just go home. In the case of failures, the show comes up with interesting ways for Jesse to destroy them.

As mentioned before, there is a bit of everything in this show, going far beyond a group of people simply building a machine. When things go wrong, they often go very wrong. Tempers flare and more than once, someone has stormed off the set or even been asked to leave. It usually becomes apparent early on who will and won't work out. In some cases, you're happy that someone is gone, but sad for the other guys, who are down on manpower and may not be able to complete the project. The DeLorean project comes to mind in that respect. If only they'd have had 10 more minutes to sort out the problem...

This is a show that the whole family can enjoy. If you're looking for something different from the norm and appreciate ingenuity, this is definitely the show for you!

A show where they build monster vehicles. hide « show »

This show is just mildly interesting. I mean the build process is boring to watch and if they fail it just wasn't even worth watching. At the end is the entertaining part how it turned out and how it looks. Had some pretty cool decent monsters and had some really boring ones also.
