Asian-American Moon Bloodgood was born on September 20, 1975 in Anaheim, California after her parents relocated from Korea, where her American father, who was a military man, met her South Korean mother while stationed there. Growing up in Orange County, Moon had dreams of becoming a singer but instead found her way cheerdancing for the Los Angeles Lakers when she was 17 years old.
During this time, she also did advertisement campaigns in New York for several companies such as Revlon, Clairol, Avon, and Nike. Upon returning to Los Angeles, Moon was asked to audition by a casting director for an episode of Just Shoot Me, which eventually became her television debut in 2002. After which, she landed more guest-starring roles in shows like CSI and Monk. She was soon seen on the big screen in such films as A Lot Like Love (2005), Eight Below (2006), and Pathfinder (2007).
In 2006, Bloodgood caught her big break when she was cast as lead character Rita Shelten on the ABC series Day Break. Unfortunately, the show was unceremoniously canceled. The following year, she again won a lead role in the NBC sci-fi drama, Journeyman which suffered the same fate as her previous show after only 13 aired episodes. And although her TV shows did not enjoy as much success as she would have hoped, Moon has gained valuable experience and exposure which led to her playing parts in the 2009 films Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and Terminator Salvation.
