11.04.08: The Day of Change is a 20-minute documentary that takes us back to the events of November 4, 2008, the dramatic and historic day when the first black president of the United States was elected. Several notable African-American US citizens are interviewed. The film begins with the celebrities briefly describing their initial reactions to Obama in 2004, and how they felt throughout the campaign. The bulk of the film is their retelling of the election day itself. The star-studded cast includes Laila Ali, Tatyana Ali, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Curtis Conway, Taye Diggs, Terry Crews, Hill Harper, CCH Pounder, Regina King, Donald Faison, Sinbad, Kevin Hart and Vivica Foxx. Their words are interspersed as they share their personal reflections upon the experience, and the meaningful details they remember from the day, down to symbolic wardrobe choices for going to the ballots. They recount their moments of anxiety, skepticism, and what Obama's message of hope meant to them as individuals and as members of the African-American community.moreless
