12 and Holding is a 2005 drama written by Anthony Cipriano and directed by Michael Cuesta. When Rudy (Conor Donovan) dies in a tree house fire set by local bullies, Jeff (Martin Campetta) and Kenny (Michael C. Fuchs), Rudy's twin brother, Jacob (also played by Conor Donovan) vows revenge. Their friend Leonard (Jesse Camacho), an overweight boy who was also at the fire, loses his sense of smell. While Rudy frequently goes to juvenile hall to intimidate the bullies, Leonard begins to eat healthy and lose weight. Meanwhile, Jacob and Leonard's female friend, Malee (Zoe Weizenbaum), becomes infatuated with one of her mother's (Annabella Sciorra) grief-stricken patients, Gus (Jeremy Renner). While Jacob delves further and further into revenge, Leonard becomes obsessed with making his family healthy, and Malee throws herself at Gus. When their individual obsessions collide, the lives of all three take an unexpected turn. In the end, they must each conquer their demons in their own way.
