PG-13
17 Again is a 2009 American comedy-drama film by director Burr Steers, starring High School Musical's Zac Efron alongside Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann. When 17-year-old Mike O'Donnel (Zac Efron) finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant during the final quarter of his high school championship basketball game, he leaves the court, and all chances of a basketball college scholarship, behind to propose to her. Flash to twenty years later and it is definitely not 1989 anymore: Mike (Matthew Perry) is unhappily married to his high school girlfriend, Scarlet (Leslie Mann) and pining for the supposedly more fulfilling life that he could have had as a basketball star. When a freak encounter with a mysterious janitor in his old school provides him with a second chance to be seventeen, he's thrilled! This time he'll do it right'he'll pursue the basketball career, not the girl. But sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side and Mike soon finds himself falling back in love with Scarlet. He can't have her and basketball, so what will he choose? 17 Again was a huge commercial success, proving that Efron is capable of taking on roles beyond the Disney superstud.moreless
