18 Fingers of Death is a 2006 kung fu comedy sensation that takes an inane view of martial arts movies. D-List movie star Buford Lee (James Lew) has starred in 803 of what only he considers the finest action movies ever made. Novice documentary filmmaker, and dedicated fan, Ronald Mack (Maurice Patten) records Lee in the process of trying to get his latest opus, "18 Fingers," off the ground. In the mockumentary tradition of "This is Spinal Tap," the film takes jabs at the genre, while remaining true to the trivia. The action heroes have names like Stephen Seafood, Chuck Snorris and Antonio Bandana. Buford treasures the unwashed sock from Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon." Real-life action B-listers Lorenzo Lamas, Pat Morita, Robin Shou and Don "The Dragon" Wilson make cameos. James Lew also wrote and directed this silly, high energy view of the martial arts heroes and the fan boys who keep them in front of the camera.
