2008
Rating:
PG-13

27 Dresses is a romantic comedy written by Aline Brosh McKenna and directed by Anne Fletcher. Jane Nicholes (Katherine Heigl) is the epitome of the always a bridesmaid and never the bride idea. She's been in multiple bridal parties, but she cannot seem to meet the man who wants to propose to her, even though she is hopelessly in love with her boss, George (Edward Burns). When her sister Tess (Malin Ã…kerman) gets engaged to George, Jane does her best to please her sister despite her unhappiness at the match. Jane meets Kevin (James Marsden) who is writing an article on Tess and George's wedding and who challenges Jane's marriage ideas. Although Kevin writes a wedding column, he is critical of marriage and the importance people place on weddings. As Kevin and Jane spend more time together for Kevin's article, the two begin to realize that there is more to each than meets the eye. Will Jane play the bridesmaid one more time, or will she be able to finally get her own day to stand at the altar? Released in 2008, 27 Dresses was produced by Spyglass Entertainment and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
