28 Days is a drama film directed by Betty Thomas and starring Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, Dominic West, Azure Skye, Viggo Mortensen and Elizabeth Perkins. The movie surrounds successful New York journalist Gwen Cummings (Bullock) who is also an alcoholic. After crashing her sister's (Perkins) wedding limo into someone's house, she is given a choice: jail or 28 days in rehab. Gwen chooses rehab although she isn't ready to admit that she is an alcoholic. While in rehab, she befriends an eclectic mix of patients including Eddie Boone (Mortensen), and Andrea Delaney (Skye). While in rehab, Gwen is forced to face some hard facts and re-examine her life. She must also put her relationship with her boyfriend Jasper (West) on hold while she tackles her demons. The relationship is complicated even more once Gwen realizes that Jasper is part of her problem. Gwen must decide whether her sobriety is more important than the emotional toll she continues to inflict upon her family.moreless
