28 Weeks Later is the 2008 sequel to the post-apocalyptic horror film 28 Days Later. The film chronicles Britain 28 weeks after the original outbreak. Most of the infected have died, and London has been declared safe. It is under control of a NATO force led by United States Brigadier General Stone (Idris Elba). He has begun repopulating the area including Don (Robert Carlyle) and Alice's (Catherine McCormack) children, Tammy (Imogen Poots) and Andy (Mackintosh Muggleton), who missed the outbreak while in Spain. Upon their return, the children go to their old home and discover their mother still alive. She is examined by the medical authorities and found to have the rage virus but to not have any symptoms. The family is reunited and must try to survive knowing that Alice has the virus and may soon begin attacking people. 28 Weeks Later is a taut thriller full of tension and violence. It is a worthy successor to highly entertaining 28 Days Later.

28 Weeks Later lacks the streamlined thrust of its predecessor but makes for compelling, adrenaline-fueled viewing just the same.
