29 Palms is a quirky 2002 crime thriller from director Leonardo Ricagni. The Drifter (Jeremy Davies) works as clerk to The Judge (Michael Lerner), who begins to think his befuddled clerk must be an undercover FBI agent. The Judge doesn't want his secret alliance with an Indian casino boss, The Chief (Russell Means), or their plans for a casino expansion exposed, so they arrange for The Hitman (Chris O'Donnell) to take care of the problem. The Drifter makes a run to the sleepy desert town of 29 Palms, where an odd assortment of characters such as a Ticket Clerk (Bill Pullman), a lovely Waitress (Rachael Leigh Cook), and a crooked Cop (Michael Rapaport) get involved in the cat-and-mouse chase between the hapless crook and the distracted Hitman, who is also trying to track down his missing blood money. This fast-paced thriller combines violence, comic mayhem and plenty of famous faces, including a cameo by standup comedian Carlos Mencia.moreless
