30,000 Leagues Under the Sea is 2007 film that is an update on the classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Vern. When various ships around the world are attacked by a mysterious creature, the American government assembles a team of experts to track down the creature and destroy it. Unique to this particular reimagining, Captainn Nemo (Sean Lawlor) uses his high-tech submarine to destroy ships and wreak havoc on the surface. As the team travels around the world searching for Captain Nemo, their high-stakes adventure becomes epically large, involving much of the world. Panned by critics, the screenplay has been blamed for much of the problems surrounding the story, which takes many liberties from the original. Also starring Lorenzo Lamas, Natalie Stone, Kim Little, Kerry Washington, Isabella Cascarano, and Declan Joyce, 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea was directed by Gabriel Bologna.
