4 Life is a 2007 independent film directed by Baltimore Hip-Hop artist Tony Austin and based on the novel, "A Thug's Life" by Thomas Long. Dayvon (Wood Harris) has formerly taken the lead of a notorious underground drug syndicate called the DFL (Dogs For Life) in West Baltimore after his best friend and leader of the group, Ty (Page Kennedy), is arrested by the authorities on suspicion. He soon left the gang life and now lives as a street enforcer. However, Dayvon faces his best friend's wrath for vengeance who thinks that he has something to do with his arrest. As the conflict between Dayvon and Ty heats up, two young members of the gang, Lil' Jay (Miguel Gaetan) and Stink (Kwame Patterson), plans to take control over the gang and attempts to kill their former gang leaders. The film is an adventure of survival in an urban warfare where one's death is a necessity in order for one to live.moreless
