8MM 2 is the 2005 direct to video 'sequel' to the popular first thriller starring Nicolas Cage. In this film, the career of a prominent politician (Jonathon Schaech, T hat Thing You Do, Quarantine, Takers, The Doom Generation) is about to derail. Everything looks in his favor to climb the political ladder. His fianc'e (Lori Heuring, Wicked Little Things, Anger Management, Mulholland Drive) is beyond wealthy and her daddy (Bruce Davison, Willard, X-Men, Apt Pupil, Dahmer, Breach, High Crimes, Six Degrees of Separation) is an Ambassador. Schaech's becoming a congressman is in jeopardy due to an extortionist with revealing photos and a video of the young couple having a sordid sexual tryst with a model/prostitute (Zita Gorog, Underworld, Underworld: Evolution) in Budapest. They must delve into the underworld of sex and pornography to retrieve the evidence in order to save the young politician's career, as well as his future father-in-law's.moreless
