A Day in October is a film based on the true story of Danish Jews' emigration out of Denmark during World War II. The Kublitz family becomes involved with the underground group taking Jews across the border when their daughter brings home a wounded resistance fighter. Bookkeepers and quiet folk, the Kublitz are surprised to find the fight on their doorstep already. As the family nurses Niels Jensen (D.B. Sweeny) back to health, the Nazi occupation of their hometown begins and they must flee to survive. But can the family extricate themselves from the fighting or will they choose to resist despite the danger it poses? Will harboring a resistance fighter be the downfall of the family, or will he and the other fighters be able to assist in their escape? As all members of the family dwell on these questions, a romance blossoms between their daring daughter Sara (Kelly Wolf) and Niels.
