A Day in the Life is a hip-hop opera starring a well-know rap musician, who plays a young gang leader living in inner-city America. Rapper Sticky Fingaz writes and directs this musical crime drama, starring as its main character, Stick. The film has no dialogue, and all the actors rap their conversations throughout the film. Stick is tired of leading a life of crime, and he wants out. As he makes plans to retire, a rival gang, led by Black (Faizon Love), kills his cousin BamBam (Bokeem Woodbine) and good friend Phya (Fredro Starr), who were watching over a drug operation. Stick then struggles with choosing either to retaliate or to continue with his retirement plans. He soon makes his decision after learning that his girlfriend Heaven (Melinda Santiago) is pregnant, making plans to get out of town. Meanwhile, Black wants Stick dead. Police Detectives Lou (Tyrin Turner) and Grant (Michael Rapaport) discover a contract on Stick's life and head to the airport to warn him. While waiting to board the plane, Stick sees both the detectives and Black's goons heading towards his gate with guns in their hands.moreless
