A Family Affair is 2001 American film written, directed by and starring Helen Lesnick. When Rachel (Lesnick) goes through a traumatic break-up, she decides to leave New York City and go to her parent's house in San Diego. Rachel's parents are insistent that she finds a girl to settle down with and encourage her to go on a series of blind dates. When all of them go poorly, Rachel allows her mother to set her up with Christine (Erica Shaffer). When the two hit it off, Rachel's friends warn her of her past mistakes in relationships and remind her that she might still be in love with her ex-girlfriend Reggie (Michele Green). When Reggie shows up in San Diego looking for her, Rachel must then make a decision as whom she wants to be with. Also starring Arleen Golonka, Barbara Stuar, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Michael Moerman, and David Raford, A Family Affair won the Audience Award at the Barcelona International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
