A Garfield Christmas is a 1987 animated Christmas special based on the comic strip Garfield. Jon, Garfield, and Odie are going to spend Christmas Eve with Jon's relatives on their farm. Meeting Jon's mother, father, brother, and grandmother on the farm, the family is ready to spend a lovely Christmas Eve on the farm. While initially not liking the idea of spending time on a farm, Garfield and Jon's grandmother become fast friends. The family eats a nice meal and then begins to decorate the Christmas tree and sing Christmas carols. All the while, Odie is working on a top secret project in the barn. Garfield tries to snoop around and figure out what Odie is making, but finds love letters written to Jon's grandmother from her late husband. After a fun Christmas Eve, the family gets together on Christmas morning to exchange gifts.
