A Girl Cut in Two is a French comedy starring Ludivine Sagnier, Francois Berleand, and Benoit Magimel. The film follows the story of attractive young woman Gabrielle Aurore Deneige (Ludivine Sagnier) and the two men who vie for her affection, Paul Gaudens (Benoit Magimel) and Charles Saint-Denis (Francois Berleand). Gabrielle is a young woman who works with her mother in a small bookstore. Famous and middle-aged author Charles Saint-Denis holds a book-signing at the store, where he develops an interest in Gabrielle and invites her to attend an auction with him. During this time, the wealthy and young Paul Gaudens is attempting to court Gabrielle as well. Gabrielle soon begins to spend time with both of the men until events force her to make a choice. A Girl Cut in Two was directed by Claude Chabrol and released on August 8, 2007 in France and August 15, 2008 in the United States of America.
