A Letter to Three Wives is a romantic comedy about three married women who receive a rather unfortunate note while on a outing together. About to board a riverboat to take a picnic with a group of kids, dear friends Deborah Bishop (Jeanne Crain), Rita Phipps (Ann Sothern), and Lora Mae Hollingsway (Linda Darnell) receive a strange message addressed to them collectively. The mysterious letter reveals that a mutual acquaintance, Addie Ross, (Celeste Holm) has run off with one of their husbands. The women scan their lives, searching for clues or motivation for the alleged theft of their beloved better halves, riddled with anxiety about the outcome. From the gold digging ways of Lora Mae, to the negligence of career driven Rita, to farm girl Deborah's aversion to high class functions, each can't help but think Addie has stolen their man. As the trip concludes and the distraught ladies come home, all is revealed in a hilariously awkward dinner, where the boys and girls put everything right on the table. Academy award winner Joseph L.
