A Little Romance is a romantic comedy that was released in 1979 and follows the love life of two young teenagers. Lauren King (Diane Lane) is an intelligent, 13-year-old American who is living in Paris. There she meets Daniel Michon (Thelonious Bernard), a native of the city, who shares her intelligence and excels at mathematics. As the two grow closer together, Lauren's mother finds out about the romance and is insistent that Daniel is not good enough for her daughter, as he comes from a poor family. They meet and befriend an older gentleman, Julius (Laurence Olivier), who is a pickpocket and a great storyteller. He tells them a story about Venice and a way they can solidify their love forever. As both Lauren and Daniel want nothing more than to be in love forever, they run away to Venice with the help of Julius in the hopes of making all of their dreams come true.
