A New Kind of Love is a 1963 film directed by Melville Shavelson. It is about a romance between a professional woman named Samantha (Joanne Woodward) and a sportswriter, Steve Sherman (Paul Newman). Samantha works as a spy for a department store, trying to guess in advance what the trendy styles for the next season will be. When she meets Steve in her normal job, they do not get along at all, leading Samantha to become depressed. After getting drunk and heading to her beauty salon, she runs into Steve again, who does not recognize her, but instead mistakes her for a prostitute. Samantha now has Steve's attention and she makes up a complex story about her fake career. Steve decides to write her story for his journalism job as he becomes increasingly interested in the woman he once disdained. Will Samantha and Steve manage to hit it off despite being entangled in lies in this 1963 exceedingly politically correct feature film?moreless
