Movie Summary

Director:
Jack Sholder
Released:
1985
Rating:
R

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is the sequel to the 1984 horror classic which brings back iconic horror character Freddy Kruger (Robert England, Phantom of the Opera, Eaten Alive, V). Fast paced, exciting sequel finds Freddy (Robert Englund) returning yet again, but this time around instead of wanting to kill teenagers in their dreams he is intent on possessing a teenager (Mark Patton, Freddy vs. Jason) and killing people in real life. The characters are just as clichéd, even more possibly, as the original, but this time around the make-up effects and Englund are far more terrifying. The film also manages to take full advantage of its scary premise. The pool party scene is a definite highlight as Freddy plays the ultimate party crasher and does more than push helpless partygoers into the deep end. Also starring Robert Rusler (Weird Science, Vamp). Rated R; Mild Sexual Situations, Extreme Graphic Violence, Profanity, and Brief Nudity.

The second film, in which one teen- ager is possessed by the spirit of a murderer - this is a supernatural Jekyll and Hyde - sets horror film fans to laughing and eventually to boo...

This hastily-produced sequel ignores the dreamstalking premise that had made A Nightmare on Elm Street successful and reverts to the overfamiliar possession story.
