A Player to Be Named Later is a documentary film which takes an inside look at baseball and the people who are trying to make it to the pros. The title of the movie, otherwise known as PTBNL in baseball, is a term for when a trade's final conditions or terms are postponed. Usually it is done for one of two reasons, if the team receiving the PTBNL isn't certain what position they want to fill, or if they want more time to evaluate talent on the other team. This documentary takes a look at minor league players who face difficult ups and downs like PTBNL. Following the minor league Indianapolis Indians, who are associated with the major league Milwaukee Brewers, we see inside of an entire year for the team, on the field and off. Starting at their Arizona training camp, we see these players as they head through the season all the way to the final, exciting game. Joined by their families, the players do their best on the field while navigating the sometimes tough ups and downs of baseball, and more so of the minor leagues.moreless
