A Plumm Summer is a coming of age story loosely based on the 1968 real-life kidnapping of marionette Froggy Doo in Billings, Montana. The film focuses on brothers Elliott (Chris Massoglia) and Rocky (Owen Pearce) Plumm, two long-time watchers of Happy Herb and Froggy Doo who have a turbulent home life. Their alcoholic father Mick (William Baldwin) is unable to hold down a job, and their mother Roxie (Lisa Guerrero) must act as the sole breadwinner for their household. Though Roxie is a caring mother, her job and her husband's alcoholism often keep her away from her children. When the news that Froggy Doo has been kidnapped reaches the Plumm family, Elliott pretends not to care until beautiful Haley Dubois (Morgan Flynn) moves in next door. While Haley finds the kidnapping fascinating, Eliott finds Haley fascinating, so it isn't hard for her to convince the brothers to investigate the crime. Once he's on the case, Eliott must lead the trio in a race to save his favorite puppet, his brother's childhood, and his relationship with the enchanting girl next-door.moreless
