A Rage to Live is a 1965 American drama directed by Walter Grauman and based on the novel by John O'Hara. When Grace Caldwell (Suzanne Pleshette) meets San Francisco real estate broker Sidney Tate (Bradford Dillman), she is smitten and swears off her nymphomaniac ways. The two fall in love and before long Sidney proposes to Grace. Grace then tells Sidney of her past, detailing the great number of men that she has been with. He still wants to marry her and she vows to stay monogamous. Years after the wedding, Sidney and Grace have a son and live an idyllic life on a farm. When handyman Roger Bannon (Ben Gazzara) shows up to fix their barn, Grace can't help but deviate from her promise to Sidney. When she tries to break it off with Roger, he takes a drastic step that causes the whole town to talk. Grace must then fend off the rumors of her deviant ways.
