A Serious Man is the latest dramedy from the masters of the satirical screwball comedy the Coen Brothers (Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Man Who Wasn't There, Miller's Crossing, Blood Simple, The Hudsucker Proxy, No Country For Old Men). Larry Gopnik is a simple physics professor having a complicated run of bad luck as of late. In a very short space of time, he loses his wife to his best friend, continues to suffer from the moochings of his boil-ridden brother who is terminally stuck on his couch until he finds a job, much to the chagrin of Larry's daughter and distant son, who is obsessed with Jefferson Airplane and his walkman. Not only that, Larry is being investigated by the faculty higher ups for possibly being unfair to a student ' and all this is going on as Larry awaits a possibly impending death sentence from his doctor.
