A Simple Plan is a 1998 drama about a group of friends who go hunting one winter night and accidentally find over four million dollars in the wreckage of an airplane. Hank (Bill Paxton), Jacob (Billy Bob Thornton) and Lou (Brent Briscoe) are good friends living in a small town in Minnesota. Their humdrum lives take a dramatic turn one night when they discover a huge stash of money in the woods. Hank wants to turn the money into the police, but is talked out of it by Jacob and Lou. They decide to hide the money until winter is over, at which point they will divide it among themselves. Part of their plan involves putting some of the money back in the plane, but when they go to do it they encounter a man and kill him. As time moves forward, their plan increasingly comes unraveled as the police and the FBI begin investigating, testing not only their friendship but their lives as well.
