A Woman's Face is a 1938 drama directed by Gustaf Molander. Anna Holm (Ingrid Bergman) lost her chance to be physically beautiful when a childhood accident badly burned her face. Never able to fully cope with the loss of her beauty, Anna has let her heart become hardened and warped, choosing a life path as a ruthless blackmailer. When she tries to blackmail Mrs. Wegert (Karin Kavli), Anna unexpectedly finds a chance to turn her life around. Mrs. Wegert's husband (Anders Henrikson) is a plastic surgeon who can restore Anna's face to its original beauty. Seduced by the idea, Anna agrees to the surgery. With a different face, Anna realizes the error of her ways and decides to find more suitable employment. She becomes a governness to a motherless boy (Gran Bernhard), but Anna does not realize that her former colleagues are ready to change her life for the worse.
