About Mrs. Leslie is 1954 drama starring Oscar award-winning actress Shirley Booth. Vivien (Shirley Booth), now old, reflects on her life as she slaves away at her mundane job as a boarding house keeper. She philosophizes on her life through a series of flashbacks, which are so long they effectively narrate her entire life. Unhappy with the life she was born into, Vivien left home at a young age and picked up a job as a cabaret singer. Not long after joining the cabaret scene, she meets a tall and mysterious man named George Leslie (Robert Ryan). Vivien becomes Leslie's mistress, and after he passes away she discovers he was quite a wealthy gentleman. Her story is paralleled by a young couple - Nadine (Marjie Millar) and Ian (Alex Nicol) - who board in the house she works in. About Mrs. Leslie was met with positive reviews and was even nominated for a BAFTA in 1955.
