Accused of Murder is a detective drama that follows the investigation of a gangland murder. When the case coughs up two suspects, you can't blame Detective Roy Hargis (David Brian) for falling for the gorgeous one. Ilona Vance (Vera Ralson), a nightclub singer, and Stan "Scarface" Wilbo (Warren Stevens), a hood in the employ of an underworld boss, are the two lead suspects. Hargis tries to protect the sultry singer, and when the investigation turns up a break in the case, Hargis thinks she is in the clear. Sandra Lamoreaux (Virginia Grey), a long-legged dancer, fingers Stan as the murderer. Unfortunately for Ilona, it turns out Sandra is blackmailing Stan. Sandra ends up paying for the deception with a brutal beating and Stan is released. With Stan in the clear, it is up to Hargis to find the true murderer even if it means Ilona will end up behind bars instead of in his arms.
