Ace in the Hole is an American drama film that was released in 1951. The film was directed by Billy Wilder and produced by Paramount Pictures. The movie's story was written by an uncredited Victor Desny and the screenplay was written by Billy Wilder, Lesser Samuels and Walter Newman. Alimony stars Kirk Douglas, Jan Sterling, Robert Arthur, Porter Hall and Frank Cady. The film's story is centered on Chuck Tatum, a struggling self-involved reporter who has ambitions of making it big again in journalism. After he gets fired from almost a dozen other newspapers, he moves to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he manages to secure a job reporting for the Albuquerque Sun-Bulletin, a small time paper. He's unhappy with his career and decides that it needs a boost, and when he hears about a man who is trapped in a cave, he decides to exploit the story for his own gain. However, the whole situation becomes out of control and turns into a huge media circus.moreless
