This terrible sexual encounter has caused Adam to be reluctant to date. His best friend, Rhonda (Parker Posey), is very supportive of Adam and wants to see him happy. One day Adam has an accident with his dog and takes him to the hospital. At the hospital, Adam meets Steve Hicks (Malcolm Gets), a former veterinarian who is now a psychiatrist.
