Air Speed is a Canadian movie that follows the story of Nicole Stone (Elisha Cuthbert), who is an overindulged and ill-mannered 13-year-old girl who gets expelled from school for the third and last time. Nicole's rich father, Raymond Stone (Joe Mantegna), sends for her in his private jet, which is where her fateful journey begins. During a turbulent flight, the airplane is caught in an electrical storm where it is stuck by lighting, which causes the aircraft to enter a perilous tailspin. This traumatic event leaves the pilot and flight personnel unconscious and Nicole is forced into a life changing experience; she must do all she can to maneuver the plane and land it safely to save her life. During her stressful experience she learns valuable lessons about herself and the life she has taken for granted up to that point. Nicole must rely on strangers from the ground to help her guide the plane to safety.
