Movie Summary

Ken Finkleman
Airplane II: The Sequel is the 1982 follow-up to the 1980 hit film, Airplane. Written and directed by Ken Finkleman and produced by Howard Koch, this sci-fi action comedy brings back many cast members from the original film as the crew and passengers of a space shuttle mission to a lunar colony. En route to the moon, the computer system of the Mayflower One short circuits, causing the shuttle's artificial intelligence to go insane and sending the disabled ship on a direct course for the sun. When several of the flight crew die, and crew member Simon Kurtz (Chad Everett) abandons ship using the only escape pod, it is up to computer officer Elaine Dickinson (Julie Hagerty) to save the shuttle and the lives of the passengers. Former test pilot Ted Striker (Robert Hays) is called in to assist, resulting in a hilarious, action-packed romp that fans of the original won't want to miss.
