Airport 1975 is an over the top 1974 American action disaster film directed by Jack Smight. It was a sequel to the 1970 film 'Airport.' In it a Boeing 747 loses its pilots in a mid air collision, forcing the lead flight attendant (Karen Black, from 'Easy Rider' and 'Five Easy Piece') to take control of the wayward flight. Complicating matters are the frantic passengers, inluding a singing nun (Helen Reddy), a has been move star (Gloria Swanson as herself!), An alcoholic (Myrna Loy), a child who needs an organ transplant (Linda Blair from 'The Excorcist'), and a nonstop talker (Sid Caesar). The flight attendant has to stay focus and listen to the help she is getting through the radio from the flight instructor Alan (played by Charlton Heston). This ridiculous movie was a critical disaster but a commercial success. It inspired the satiric film 'Airplane!' and is now included in the book 'The Fifty Worst Films of All Time.'
