Aladdin is a 1992 animated comedy that relates the fantastical tale of the legendary hero, Aladdin. When Jafar (Jonathan Freeman), the evil Grand Vizier to the Sultan, fails to steal a magic lamp, he learns that the lamp can only be taken by a true "Diamond in the Rough." At the same time, the young street urchin, Aladdin (Scott Weinger), meets Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin) while she is slumming in the marketplace. Arrested for the crime of speaking to the princess, Aladdin is taken by Jafar and used to secure the magical lamp since Aladdin is a true "Diamond in the Rough." Once Aladdin has the lamp, he rubs it and is astonished when a Genie (Robin Williams) suddenly appears. Aladdin intends to give the lamp to Jafar but runs away when Jafar attempts to kill him. With the Genie's three wishes on his side, Aladdin returns to the city, hoping to find a way to win Princess Jasmine's heart and defeat the evil Jafar.

  • Awesome Film

    10
Aladdin is like almost every film in the Disney Renaissance, it was awesome and one of my all time favorite movies. It had a perfect blend of romance, comedy, fantasy, musical, adventure, and action. The animation is superb.

In addition, Aladdin is one of Disney's greatest heroes. He may not be as strong as Hercules, as skilled in the martial arts as Mulan, has shown no archery skills like Robin Hood, but he is amazingly intelligent and agile. His intellect is what enabled him to defeat Jafar by tricking Jafar into becoming a genie and imprison him in a lamp. He is also pure hearted, giving to orphan children some bread that he had to avoid the palace guards to obtain. However, he is still human and thus was given his flaws, such as his insecurity.

Jasmine is my number 1 favorite Disney Princess, because she wants a life not being in the palace all the time and is one of the strongest Disney Princesses.

A month after Robin Williams sadly passed away, I bought the platinum DVD of the film and saw the behind the scenes look at the film first, something I don't always do. I was amazed at the effort put into the film, including scrapping a storyboard they felt wouldn't work and started again. This is why the film is so great. Effort and that's the key word. They kept working on this film until it was perfect in their eyes.moreless
  • BEST DISNEY MOVIE EVER!!

    10
This is one of my all time favourite disney movies mainly because of the romance between Aladdin and Jasmine.

It's just so sweet and romantic my favourite parts were when Aladdin and Jasmine almost had their first kiss in Aladdin's home, Aladdin and Jasmine's first kiss, the scene where the sultan finds out that Jasmine has chosen Aladdin as her suitor and the ending when the sultan allowed Jasmine to be with Aladdin and where he became her fiance.

THEY ARE THE BEST DISNEY COUPLE EVER!!!moreless
  • Nick finally cancelled Sam & Cat!

    10
I know this is unrelated, but we finally got rid of Sam & Cat! Hallelujah! So that's one crappy Nick show down, seven more to go. Now we just need to get rid of: The Thundermans, The Haunted Hathaways, Breadwinners, Rabbids Invasion, Sanjay and Cat, Every Which Way, and AwesomenessTV.
