Albino Alligator, Kevin Spacey's directorial debut, is a fast-paced crime thriller set in the colorful city of New Orleans. After botching an attempted robbery, Dova (Matt Dillon), Milo (Gary Sinise) and Law (William Fichtner) find themselves in a high-speed car chase that results in the death of two policemen. The three crooks have nowhere to run and decide to hide out in Dino's Last Chance Bar, a seedy dive on a secluded side street. When the bar is surrounded by a SWAT team, led by Agent G. D. Browning (Joe Mantegna), the trio round up Dino (E. Emmet Walsh), the barmaid Janet (Faye Dunaway), and the customers as hostages. The small-time hoods are in for a surprise, however, when they find one of the hostages, Guy (Viggo Mortensten), is an international arms dealer and way out of their league. Faced by threats from both inside and outside of the bar, the bungling burglars hatch an escape plan so crazy that it just might work.moreless
