Alexandra is a drama movie that was released in 2007, featuring the story of Alexandra Nikolaevna (Galina Vishnevskaya), a grandmother who is going to visit her grandson, one of the best officers in the Chechen army. She goes there expecting to see how well her grandson is doing and hopes she will be proud of him. She discovers just how horrible this world is, as there are no women around, no comfort and warmth in anyone's life. There is just the miserable monotony of the army and the chain of command. Even though there are many bigger issues at hand, and these people are dealing with life and death decisions everyday, Alexandra does not understand how they can be living in this world. Will she be able to inspire her grandson into seeing things differently and helping to enact change, or will she simply be another pawn in the rigid world that is the Chechan army?
