Alien Dead is a 1980 American horror film written and directed by Fred Olen Ray and starring Buster Crabbe, Ray Roberts, and Linda Lewis. The film tells the story of a family living in a houseboat in the middle of a Florida swamp. When the houseboat is struck by a meteor, the family becomes zombies, feasting on the alligators in the swamp. After they have eaten all of the alligators, they then turn on the locals. When the citizens of of the small town begin disappearing one by one, a scientist goes on a mission to discover the meaning behind the sudden deaths. The film's abrupt ending leaves many questions unresolved, with few of the townsfolk surviving the brutal zombie attacks. Taking cues from George A. Romero movies, the zombies in Alien Dead are impervious to most human attacks and are vicious in their hunger for human flesh.
