Alien Nation: Millennium follows Matthew Sykes (Gary Graham) and George Francisco (Eric Pierpont) as they investigate a leader of a religious cult. Like Detective George Francisco, this leader is an extraterrestrial who has come to Earth to permanently live. The cult uses a form of virtual reality to promise followers a form of peace and serenity in the face of the quickly approaching year 2000. However, the investigation becomes highly personal when Francisco's son, Buck (Sean Six) becomes a follower. Buck's life becomes endangered, as the cult's use of virtual reality proves deadly to some. This film continues the science fiction series that originally aired on Fox Television. Many of the subplots of newcomer integration and assimilation are also continued. This includes the romance between Matthew Sykes and his extraterrestrial girlfriend, as well as the day-to-day drama of George Francisco's wife and his other children. Both Millennium and the television series are sequels to the popular Alien Nation movie, which originally starred James Caan.moreless
