Movie Summary

Director:
R.W. Goodwin
Released:
2009
Rating:
PG

Alien Trespass is a 2009 science-fiction comedy directed by R.W. Goodwin. In 1957, successful astronomer Dr. Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) watches with interest as a shooting star lights up the night sky. Dr. Lewis sees the star as a special sign on his anniversary night and proceeds to celebrate a romantic evening with the beautiful and devoted Lana (Judy Thompson). Meanwhile, ambitious waitress Tammy (Jenni Baird) sees the same star and hopes it means she will have good luck. What neither Dr. Lewis nor Tammy realize is that this lucky star is actually a very unlucky sign: it is a spaceship plummeting toward earth. When it crashes, a hideous monster escapes from the wreckage, determined to wreak havoc on this small blue and green planet. Fortunately, the spaceship also carries a peaceful presence. The kind alien possesses Dr. Lewis to stop the monster and save the world. Tammy winds up involved in a plot that far exceeds her dreams of glory and fame.

While Alien Trespass stays true to the era and the genre, it forgets that its mission in this galaxy is not merely to pay tribute but to entertain.
