All Through the Night is a 1941 thriller about a group of Americans who discover a secretive Nazi organization living in New York City. Gloves Donahue (Humphrey Bogart) is a gambler who becomes concerned one day when the restaurant he usually frequents does not have his favorite cheesecake. Gloves decides to visit the bakery where it is made, where he discovers the dead body of its elderly owner, Miller (Ludwig Stossel). As Gloves investigates the killing, he meets a friend of Miller's named Leda (Kaaren Verne). She tells Gloves that she and Miller were involved in a hidden Nazi group headed by a sinister man named Ebbing (Conrad Veidt). Gloves also learns that Miller was killed by an evil Nazi thug named Pepi (Peter Lorre). Upon being discovered, the Nazis attempt to flee New York. The only thing preventing them is the ragtag mob that Gloves assembles in an effort to thwart their escape.moreless
